Twistedly linked with the history of the city and seat of government in different eras, from the Sforza to Napoleon, the Palazzo Reale is today the venue par excellence of the biggest art exhibitions held in Milan, always a great success.
The courtyards and especially the caryatids' room on the main floor, which survived Anglo-American bombing in World War II, still evoke the splendour of court life that took place over the centuries next to the cathedral of the Duomo.
