Are you a running fanatic and don't want to give up training even on holiday or on a business trip? The Navigli is the right place for you. In fact, the towpath of the canals - Pavia and Grande - is one of the most popular routes for Milanese runners and allows you to run as many kilometres as you like out of traffic and along a fabulous cycle/pedestrian path. Those with breath and legs can even do the marathon starting from the dock and finishing at the Ticino river (km 42).
Suggested routes:
- Departure from the Darsena: walk along the towpath of the Naviglio Grande to the church of San Cristoforo and back (10 km), to Corsico and back (20 km).
- From the towpath of the Naviglio Pavese, at the height of via Pavia or viale Tibaldi, follow the road to via Gattinara and back (km 10).
- A very beautiful route is the circular one that joins the Naviglio pavese to the Naviglio grande, crossing the rice-fields park frequented by herons: start from the towpath Naviglio pavese, travel as far as via Gattinara. Cross the motorway bridge and take the first country road on the right. Keep right until the small hamlet of via Valpolicella, then turn left. Turn left again at the fork. Go straight on until you reach the Naviglio Grande, and turn right to reach the Darsena. From the darsena take the Naviglio pavese again (15 km).
Have a good workout!
